PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Optigard Ant Gel Bait offers unparalleled control of a broad spectrum of ants, including Argentine, carpenter, ghost and other nuisance ant species, by ingestion and transfer of the bait, providing efficacy against the entire colony, not just the workers. Optigard Ant Gel Bait doesn't have the unsightly yellowish-brown color or the inconsistent, runny consistency of other baits. It's transparent at application and stays clear throughout treatment. It has little to no odor and doesn't stain treated surfaces. And its thicker consistency allows it to hold its shape without running. Packaged in a ready-to-use 30 gram syringes with individual plungers, Optigard Ant Gel Bait boasts the same powerful active ingredient as Optigard ZT, thiamethoxam. Combined with an extremely palatable formula, this potent active ingredient is readily transferred throughout the colony, providing complete colony elimination. Long term control is most effectively obtained with a combination of methods for ant management.

TARGET PESTS: For control of structure invading ants. (Excluding Fire, Harvester and Pharaoh)

WHERE TO USE IT: Bait Application This product can be applied using the syringe applicator or a bait injector. Apply bait in cracks, crevices, corners and out of the way places, such as under and behind kitchen appliances and baseboards, under sinks, around window and door frames, pipes and water heater and in the attic, crawl space and garage. Place multiple application spots of gel where ants are observed actively foraging or entering the structure. If the area to be treated has been recently treated with insecticide, thoroughly clean the area before applying this bait. Do not spray insecticide over gel as this may cause the bait to become repellent. Do not apply to areas that are routinely washed (such as countertops) as bait may be removed or diluted and spread onto the surface. Indoor Use Visually inspect for the presence of ants and place this product in areas where ants are seen. Optimal locations for bait placement are the active points of entry and areas with potential high moisture including: wall voids, cracks and crevices in kitchens and bathrooms, under sinks, window sills and door frames, screen vents, attics, crawl spaces and garages. In areas of excessive foraging activity, place bait in several locations near the point of entry. Do not place bait in areas that are routinely washed, as washing will remove or dilute bait. Do not treat food preparation surfaces. During followup visits inspect placements and reapply as needed. Outdoor Use Place bait on, into or adjacent to structures where ants are observed, adjacent to ant trails and to areas suspected of ant activity. Optimal locations for bait placement are points of entry into the structure and areas with potential periods of high moisture such as: soffits, eaves, weep holes, and where pipes and wires enter the structure. Exposure to direct sunlight, extreme heat or cold and water may reduce length of bait effectiveness. Bait may also be placed outdoors into refillable tamper-resistant bait stations. Close tamper-resistant stations securely after application. During follow-up visits inspect placements and reapply as needed. Food/Feed Handling Establishments Use Food/feed areas include areas for receiving, storage, packing (canning, bottling, wrapping, boxing), preparing foods, edible waste storage, and enclosed processing systems (mills, dairies, edible oils, syrups). Serving areas are also considered a food/feed area when food is exposed and facility is in operation. Application within food/feed areas of food/feed handling establishments is limited to crack and crevice treatment only. If bait contacts an exposed surface where food is handled, remove bait and wash exposed surface with an effective cleaning compound followed by a potable water rinse prior to use. Apply directly into cracks and crevices with syringe applicator or bait injector. Place applicator tip into cracks, crevices, holes and other small openings where ants may travel and apply small amounts of bait per spot. Apply up to 1 gram of gel per spot. Apply bait between different elements of construction, between equipment and floors, openings into voids and hollow spaces in equipment bases and legs, walls, floors and ceilings, around plumbing pipes, doors and windows, cabinets, sinks, closets, stoves and other equipment. Specifically target places where ants may enter the structure. During follow-up visits inspect placements and reapply as needed. Do not apply bait to areas where food/feed utensils or processing surfaces may become contaminated.

RATE OF APPLICATION: Use enough bait to provide foraging ants all they can take. If they consume all bait, reapply. Bait can stay attractive for two weeks. Long term control is most effectively obtained with a combination of methods for ant management.Reapply as needed.

SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS: Keep out of reach of children and pets.
